Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride

by THE BLACK RYDER

Colin Some completely unexpected psych rock - and not psych rock in a discoordinated, disharmonious way, but full on melodic progressive wailing guitar and vapid vocals. Some songs perhaps move in the direction of blues rock with ungroomed riffs and echos, to combine for a very grungy authoritative feeling. This album knew what it wanted to be and is completely unapologetic about it.
Favorite track: Let It Go.

To never know you, to never see beyond this time To know you… To make you happy To never know you, to always be lost in this time To know you… To make you happy
2.
Let It Go 05:11
I’m looking for perfection And you’re perfect in every way I’m searching for a distraction Something to let me go You wanted all I could give you Turn me on then let me go There’s nothing left to give you Except for everything I’m looking for perfection And you’re perfect in every way I’m searching for a distraction Something to let me go
3.
Grass 04:26
Run for it rabbit, run Don’t wait till the deed is done Take the highway line For the longest ride I’m feeling fine You’re done for it rabbit, done You’re head’s down you missed your run You took the wrong way son Now the gold is gone You’re out of time
4.
Outside 05:18
Outside, so foreign to our needs We’re trying just to be On the outside Outside, so foreign to our needs We’re trying just to be On the outside We’re sorry we don’t know We’ll try once more with feeling Not sure which way to go But I just want to be there I will wait for you, I will wait for you Just one more time Give me some light, show me something new Give me some light, show me something new I try to show you what I see Not good enough to be on the outside I try to show you what I see Not good enough to be on the outside Give me some light, show me something new Give me some light, show me something new
5.
I want you to be here You know how it goes It loses its meaning The longer it known Just something to deal with To get what you know And I want you to be here Your lies, conceal you But I still feel you I try but will you Can’t escape your lies Gone without feeling I want you to know I want you to be here All that I know In this feeling When you go You no longer be here Your lies, conceal you But I still feel you I try but will you Can’t escape your lies
6.
Time is so cruel To all of our kind And you could be everything or nothing of mine You play it so cool All of this time And you could be everything or nothing of mine If we could fall If we could be I’d give you all I had I could be true And tell you no lies I’d be your fool If you could be mine If we could fall If we could be I’d give you all I had To be with You
7.
You can’t fear the reaper He’s coming for us all It’s time to get it on or to fall down We find all that’s forsaken When every truth unfolds Just trying to hold on To what you’ve taken You say there’s a taking But I don’t buy what’s sold We’re on our way to nothing to redemption I might be mistaken I thought I knew it all Just trying to show off You know you got me
8.
9.
I’m all on my own I’m drinkin’ for you and me I’m singing this song And hearing your harmony All I want, sweet lover on my side Oh lord, you’re my only friend tonight You’re all the I know I’m thinking about you and me And where we belong Singing this melody All I want, sweet lover on my side Oh lord, you’re my only friend tonight
10.
Let's try to forget all that's forgotten I'm not trying to be all that you want You will never know what's uncertain & I'll never be what I'm not I'm not a friend to what you're feeling I don't have all that you need Give into this moment with some feeling Something just might come out right We won't ever stay the same If you & I can't take some blame All we know is how to burn & fade Away
11.
Rise 06:52
Away from you and the light And it’s been a long time since you tried I’ve been going anywhere, and anywhere’s a lie I feel like I’ve been climbing stairs in someone else’s life Cause you fall until you rise And you need until you die And the world won’t give you a light Cause you fall until you rise Far away, away from here Fallen through the landslide But I’m still here Still far from all the world that I know Hard to be one place I call home Waiting all alone till my thoughts will come I don’t need no telephone to tell me why you’ve done the thing you’ve done Cause you fall until you rise And you need until you die And the world won’t give you a light Cause you fall until you rise
